First, we cut the poplar board to the desired length and the table legs to the desired height. In our project, we used a miter saw to cut the polar board to 9ft and the legs to 20 inches to ensure it can be hidden behind our couch.
Attach the mounting hardware kit to the underside of the corners of the poplar board as well as the middle for additional support and then screw in table legs. The table will wobble a bit, but the sectional sofa is what will be keeping it in place. We also added a 2"x2" pine board piece in between the end table legs to reinforce the table.
Remove the mount from the spotlight cans and trace the bottom of the light onto the poplar board (allow space for the cord).
Trace out the bottom of the
recessed power strip onto desired section of the poplar board.
Use a power drill to make several holes around the outline you just traced and ensure that you stay within the line. It helps to have someone hold the table in place.

Use a jigsaw to cut out the outlines by inserting the blade into one of the drilled holes to start and following through. Again, it helps if someone holds the table in place.
Sand smooth then apply Polyurethane sealer to the poplar board and let it sit for 2 hours.
Sand again with 220 grit sandpaper for a finer finish.
Insert can lights and recessed plug into the holes before placing it behind the couch. Plug in lights to a
2 prong
extension cord and into the GE light switch. This switch is not compatible with a 3 Prong extension cord.
Plug speakers in and place on top of table. Of course, test everything out to make sure it works! Enjoy!
